Dr. Danielle Friesen

From a very young age, Dr. Friesen knew that her love for animals would guide her future career as a veterinarian. Dr. Friesen grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and completed her Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in zoology at the University of Manitoba in 2009. She then entered the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, completing her degree in 2013. Throughout her years at the College, Dr. Friesen gained valuable experience in small animal medicine, surgery and emergency medicine. She fostered her interests and gained experience at the College through rotations such as Emergency and Critical Care, Ophthalmology and Small animal medicine and surgery. During her final year she completed an externship in Neurology at Canada West Veterinary Specialists in Vancouver. After graduation, she moved to Calgary, Alberta to work in a 24-hour small animal hospital. Dr. Friesen returned home and has been working in Winnipeg since spring of 2014. She is excited to join the team at South End Veterinary Hospital and our sister clinic, Sage Creek Animal Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys playing rugby and hockey, spending time with her Dachshund mix Oliver, husky mix Joker, and her cat Ace
